Description: This feature set represent the current Priority Development Areas (PDA) for the San Francisco Bay Region. The geographies were adopted by the Metropolitan Transportation Commission and Association of Bay Area Governments executive bodies on July 16, 2020.As the current, or active, version of PDAs in the region, this is where edits and updates will be applied over time. PDAs used for specific versions are maintained as separate features. Links to the Plan Bay Area specific versions are at the end of this section. This version of the PDAs were adopted as the official boundaries for planning related to Plan Bay Area 2050 (PBA 2050), and, for now, this feature services is the same as the one specific to the plan. In time, as updates are made, this version will move beyond what was used for PBA 2050.Changes included since the February 2020 update (these will be moved to Process Description section of metadata at next release):Attribute Table:The attribute table has been restructured again to remove one field and add another. The acres column was removed. The pba50_chng (PBA2050_Changes) column was added so information regarding whether the PDAs are a new PDA, a PDA whose boundary was modified since the last Plan Bay Area, or an existing PDA that was not modified.The PDAs are used by the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) to plan for development in the San Francisco Bay Region. PDAs represent areas local jurisdictions have identified, as part of the region's Sustainable Communities Strategy work, for new and/or intensified development.This PDA feature set can be used in general mapping and analysis related to the San Francisco Bay Region.DO NOT USE this feature layer for mapping or analysis related to earlier versions of Plan Bay Area.
